The more appropriate thing to do is ask for him to talk a leave of absence until the inquiry is complete. <BR/><BR/>On the larger issue of moving away from the presumption of racism, I don't know. Is every conflict between a white and African-American or other group related to race? Can it simply be a conflict? I think that the accusation of racism can and increasingly is being handled the same way as other accusations--with the requirement that any accusation has the burden of proof.
